NSW Nordic Ski Club

CROSS COUNTRY RACING

Citizen racing is booming at the NSW Nordic Ski Club. Citizen racing is extremely popular in Europe and North America and some of the races in Australia have been going for 30 years. Citizen racing is for everyone, something like Sydney's City to Surf on skis. Whether you are a classical skier (skis travel along parallel to each other) or skater (you ski like an in-line skater), there are fun races to go in from July to September.

Team Nordic has been formed within the club to go as a team in some of the races and to train together. There is also the Skating Instruction Weekend which is two days of instruction for both beginners and advanced skiers. It also includes instruction on race strategy, videos and gear choice and waxing. The Kangaroo Hoppet at Falls Creek is always one of the highlights of the year but there are also plans to go to the Merino Muster, a 42km race in New Zealand.
