SNOW CAMPING

Snow camping is great and not as cold as you expect. If you come prepared then there is nothing like waking up on snow with no one around except the ravens. Through multi-day trips to places like Jagungal, the Grey Mare Range or the Bogong High Plains you can visit areas that only downhill skiers can dream about. These trips mean you must be self-sufficient and have reasonable fitness. But there is nothing like being snug in your warm sleeping bag whilst a blizzard rages outside the tent. Then waking up to put some tracks in whilst the snow is still fresh. The camaraderie that develops from these trips can last for years.
